If you feel like fighting discrimination is unfair to employees and the odds are stacked against you…
you're not wrong, but you're not powerless either.
When we experienced discrimination, we learned this the hard way — making mistakes, drowning in information and advice we didn't fully understand, and often feeling very alone in our fights.
And those of us who managed to protect ourselves and even pursue justice, know it's only because we were lucky enough to receive support and guidance before it was too late. It made us realize that the problem isn't that options for protecting yourself don't exist, it's that unless an employee happens to know the right person, no one ever explains the rules to them or guides them through what to do while they still have time to act.
We created Disrupting Discrimination to change that, because we believe every employee deserves access to the same information and understanding that their employer already uses to protect themselves.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Disrupting Discrimination is for anyone who’s ever sensed something was wrong at work but didn’t know what to do next. It’s for employees who feel unseen, unheard or unsure whether what they’re experiencing is “serious enough” to act on. It’s also for advocates, allies and those who have experienced discrimination and want to pass on what they've learned to others.
We exist to support employees, because we believe that no one should have to face discrimination alone.
The best time is when something starts to feel off. Discrimination rarely begins with an obvious act. Instead it often builds through small changes in treatment, opportunity or tone. We help you recognize these early signs, validate your concerns and take proactive yet strategic action every step of the way.
By acting early you can avoid common mistakes that can limit your options for accountability if the situation escalates into career-impacting harm or termination.
Yes. Even if you’re not in a position to take formal action, naming what’s happening can be its own form of power. Gaslighting thrives on confusion and self-doubt; when you can clearly identify the harm, it loses its grip.
Our community and support options offer a safe space to process what’s happening with others who understand what you're going through. You can share your experience, get perspective, and rebuild the confidence that discrimination often erodes. Whether you’re preparing for next steps or simply trying to stay grounded, support and understanding can make all the difference.
Yes! Many of the people who come to us know something is off and believe they're being mistreated, but they're not certain if it's discrimination or if their rights are being violated. In these situations, we work with you to help verify if it's discrimination by providing guidance on warning signs to watch for and questions to ask to better determine if discrimination is a factor.
